Potential Students & Fellows

A particular goal of the NHMRC CCRE Program was to build national expertise in clinical research. Within the program we now have 8 PhD students and two post-doctoral fellows. Areas of interest for our current PhD candidates include study of septic shock, blood-borne virus infections in pregnancy, tuberculosis in the Australian and migrant populations, algorithms for the management of infections in immunocompromised hosts, HIV in refugees from Africa and computer-assisted decision support for the provision of microbiological advice and antibiotic selection.

The CCREID collaborates closely with other researchers and we are delighted that we have PhD students placed at other institutions, such as the Royal Women's Hospital and Peter MacCallam Institute.

There are also opportunities for Advanced Medical Science (AMS) students at the CCREID.
